Squeaky Green
Contrary to popular belief, what you don't know can hurt you.
Traditional cleaning products contain chemicals that can be found in the bloodstreams of newborn babies.
Many of those chemicals have been connected to all sorts of health-related problems.
You have to ask yourselves, why eat organic foods but clean with pesticides?
Below are some eco-friendly, safe for our family products:
-
Replace hazardous cleaning products with non-toxic cleaners.
Antibacterial soap and cleaners are registered pesticides. Look for biodegradable, non antibacterial cleaners.
A product that I like is Sound Earth's The Velvet Hammer.
It can be purchase on-line at http://www.thegreenguide.com.

Fragrance Free Laundry detergent.
If your skin is ultra sensitive (and who’s not in the dry winter months) purchase Dr. Watkins Fragrance Free Laundry soap.
It’s ultra concentrated, 1 oz. per load and uses less than half the plastic of a standard 100 oz. bottle, which means less waste and less impact on the environment!
The natural formula contains a soy-based fabric softener that leaves clothes feeling soft and clean and is gentle enough for baby clothes, delicate fabrics and hand washing.
It’s also low sudsing and ideal for both front loaders and high efficiency washers.
There are many good products on this website that I love. http://www.jrwatkins.com.

You can make your own all-purpose green cleaner.
Combine 2 cups white vinegar with 2 cups water in a spray bottle.
Again, you can scent with a few drops of essential oil.
As with all acidic solutions, do not use this on marble.
It will destroy the finish and can even etch the surface.
Another option is 3 tablespoons baking soda dissolved in warm water in a spray bottle.
